Will I be affected by altitude sickness?
Will I be affected by altitude sickness? What some may not know about Cusco is that this city is incredibly high in altitude (3399 meters in elevation). This kind of altitude can seriously mess up with your physical state. However, there is no way to predict altitude sickness; you may not even get it. Physical fitness, age, and gender have no bearing on whether you will get altitude sickness or not. Even if you do, our tours, hotels, and transportation are equipped with oxygen balloons in case of emergency. We recommend adjusting to the altitude of at least 2 to 3 days prior to any hike or active Cusco tours.
