As your plane touches down in Cusco, your adventure is about to begin. You won’t miss a minute of the magic. Your guide will be waiting with a private van to take you and your family directly to the Sacred Valley (The sacred Valley is the best place to get easily acclimatize). As you enjoy your stay, you’ll become acclimatized to the altitude.
Our first stop is a small farm where your little ones will love meeting the inhabitants. They’re all Andean camelids. Get up close to the gentle alpacas, llamas and guanacos. After the farm visit, we continue our journey to Pisaq to explore the famous Pisaq complex. Here you’ll learn about the might Incas. You’ll get to explore a mummy cemetery and the royal baths. The Miradors in the area will afford you breathtaking vistas of the valley beyond.
Depending on the time available, you’ll enjoy a packed picnic or a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
After a busy day, we’ll drop your family off at a hotel in Urubamba for a restful night.
After a healthy energy-packed breakfast, we’ll head off to Huaypo Village, a 40-minute drive from Urubamba. We’ll pick up our bikes and then take off on our cycling tour around the tranquil Huaypo Lake. We’ll pass villages and farms against a backdrop of the beautiful Andean Mountains. If you have the energy, we can continue to cycle to Salineras. Alternatively, you can hop into our private vehicle. The next step of our adventure is an easy hour-long hike to the Urubamba River. By this time, you’ll be hungry so we’ll take you to a child-friendly restaurant where you can enjoy some delicious local cuisine.
After breakfast, you drive about 30 minutes to the Urubamba River put in. We fit you and your kids with full rafting gear in the right sizes, including helmets and life jackets.
You start on the water right away. Based on your kids’ ages and your family’s comfort level, you raft anything from a calm float with gentle waves to fun Class II and Class III rapids. Guides keep it flexible. We also bring extra two person inflatable kayaks so kids can switch between the main raft and a smaller boat if they want a change.
After the river, you stop for a relaxed picnic lunch. Then you head to the train station for the ride to Aguas Calientes. This train ride is part of the experience for both kids and adults. You board a comfortable panoramic train that follows the Urubamba River into the canyon. The scenery shifts as you go, from open valley farmland to steep canyon walls and thick jungle.

This is the day you’ve been waiting for. We’re taking the shuttle to the iconic Machu Picchu. Since you have small children, we recommend you take the two-hour tour. We’ll explore the complex and climb the steps of Machu Picchu to reach its highest point. Our guides are used to taking children on tours so they’ll make sure that your kids have plenty of fun and a day to remember. At the end of the tour, we take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then drive to Cusco. If you want to take it easy, you can spend the night in Calientes or Ollantaytambo, returning to Cusco in the morning.
