The climate around Lake Titicaca is highland/Alpine. Be cautious as altitude sickness is a constant risk at these heights. The region, including Puno, tends to be cold throughout most of the year. Puno, known as the coldest city in Peru, has an average annual temperature of only 7°C and receives an annual rainfall of 610mm. During the dry season in this region, spanning from May to November, the average temperature hovers around 14°C, peaking at 20°C during the day but dropping to approximately -4°C between June and August at night.
